To assure GTS will meet or exceed our goals and objectives, GTS has assembled a management team of extremely qualified individuals with over 120 years of combined healthcare experience. Each individual executive has a minimum of 25 years in their respective field and or fields. This diversified management team is multilingual and consists of individuals with experience in administration, law, marketing, technology and finance. In addition, the team includes several notable cardiologists, internal medicine physicians and nurses as part of the Medical Advisory Committee.
Michael Miller, CPA, Chief Executive Officer/Board Chairman Mr. Miller began his career with Coopers and Lybrand in public accounting advancing to a management level within the organization. He strategically shifted into the corporate setting as President of Hitachi Medical Systems America, Captive Finance Program. He also served as the Chief Financial Officer of Summit World Trade, an international diagnostic imaging manufacturer. Over a period he advanced to an ownership and leadership position at several different medical specialty finance companies. Mr. Miller has over 18 years of experience in both the healthcare and finance arena and has owned diagnostic imaging facilities and other organizations delivering healthcare services. He brings both successful management and financial leadership to GTS. In his role with GTS, Mr. Miller is responsible for the strategic direction of the organization, and leading the strategic implementation of the GTS product line. Mr. Miller received his BS in Accounting from Cedarville University and his CPA license in the state of Ohio.
Christopher T. Beseda, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Beseda has over 20 years of experience in information technology and institutional finance. He received his undergraduate degree from John Carroll University and his MBA from Kent State University’s Graduate School of Management. Early in his career Mr. Beseda held engineering roles in information security and information research. While employed with Kent State University, he participated in research projects that developed advanced technologies for the National Science Foundation and the National Security Agency. Upon receiving his MBA, Mr. Beseda worked in institutional equities research and in 2010 was ranked 3rd in the nation by First Coverage for his investment recommendations. Upon leaving equities research Mr. Beseda worked as an investment manager for an Ohio based, middle-market focused, private equity fund. As GTS’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Beseda will be responsible for providing strategic and tactical guidance among GTS’s operating groups.
John McBarron Hodgson, MD, Chief Medical Office Dr. John Hodgson is an interventional cardiologist and has 30 years of healthcare industry experience. Dr. Hodgson has been in multiple leadership roles at academic medical centers, community hospitals and integrated health systems. His interests are the evolution of population care delivery models, clinical academic alignment, consistent delivery of clinical excellence, and care transformation. Dr. Hodgson is recognized as an international leader in Cardiology. He has lectured throughout the world, published extensively, and been sought out for service on committees addressing Clinical Practice Guidelines, CMS and FDA regulatory affairs, Clinical Competency and Credentialing Statements. He has been actively involved in both investigator initiated and multicenter clinical research, serves as a consultant to many healthcare related companies, is a reviewer for many cardiovascular journals, and manages several healthcare related educational and investment companies.
Carlos E. Bieberach, Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer Mr. Bieberach attended Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah. Mr. Bieberach has specialized in custom made software since 1987 and telephony software since 1992. His work has been geared towards development of custom made telephony systems for the medical industry. He has created and deployed custom-made software for the telecom and medical industry in more than 15 countries. During his career, he was the Founder and Software Development Director of GTM Systems. In his role, Mr. Bieberach will lead the technical development and implementation of GTS products.
Scott Ruffer, Executive Vice President, Channel Development. Mr. Ruffer has over 20 years of experience developing and implementing sales and channel programs for mobile, software, digital signage, and other complex technical products. Mr. Ruffer has the job of leading the GTS customer acquisition and channel programs. He has worked at Matrox Graphics, a multi-national graphics hardware and software company, holding responsibility for OEM, system builder, and channel sales. He also founded ChannelTech, a contract sales and marketing firm focused on developing US markets for Bluetooth-embedded cellular/wireless communications products, video distribution and early stage proximity and location management technologies. Mr. Ruffer has a BFA from Bowling Green State University and is a veteran of the US Air Force.
Christopher L. Wakeman Vice President, Business Development - West. Mr. Wakeman has over 25 years of experience in sales and business development having held executive sales and development positions with Hitachi Medical Systems, Elscint, Inc., Alliance Health Care and InSight Health Care Services. Mr. Wakeman has also owned and operated several outpatient diagnostic imaging centers in Alaska, Oregon and California. He most recently has consulted for several early-stage medical device/software companies including Nocimed, LLC and Cokiya, Inc. Mr. Wakeman has An MBA from the University of San Francisco and a BS in Microbiology from San Diego State University.
William G. Zell, RPh Vice President Pharmacy Mr. Zell has over 40 years of experience in Pharmacy management. Mr. Zell started as a staff pharmacist in 1974. Mr. Zell owned and operated Cedar Locust Pharmacy from 1979 to 2001 where he achieved growth annually and initiated innovative programs in DME, nutrapharmaceuticals and patient compliance packaging. From 1987 to 1990, he also owned and operated Ivene Laboratories that focused on chemotherapy and pain management. He sold this company to Hooper Holmes, Inc. after growing the business to $2MM in revenues in 2 years. From 2001 to 2006, Mr. Zell spun Cedar Locust Pharmacy into ZellMed Solutions. At ZellMed he grew gross revenues at a CAGR of 30% before he sold this business in 2006 to Omnicare, Inc. From 2006 to 2011, Mr. Zell continued as general manager and was able to achieve a 60% increase in revenue while achieving financial metrics at or exceeding company goals. Mr. Zell’s role with GTS will include the establishment of all pharmacy related businesses and to drive revenue to the Company through pharmacy related activities. Mr. Zell attended undergrad at the University of Kentucky before receiving his BS Pharmacy from Mercer University in 1974.
Dr. Joseph L. Torres Dr. Torres received his medical degree from the Catholic University, Madrey Maestra Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. He is an experienced Medical professional with over 30 years' experience in the healthcare industry. Board Certified in Sports Medicine and Family Practice, Doctor Torres has clinical expertise in Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, Graded Exercise Testing, Colposcopy, Stress Testing, Sports Medicine and Rhinolaryngoscopy, while being licensed to Practice Medicine in the States of Florida, Nebraska and Iowa. Doctor Torres has held senior executive positions with leading managed care organizations in Florida, and is well recognized and respected by his peers in the medical community for his Publications, Research and Community work. Doctor Torres will be responsible for helping advise Global Telehealth Services with securing Business Relationships to build the brand, Marketing and Sales, Capital Raises, Interfacing with Physician clients and Business Development.
Nathan B. Webb, JD, Intellectual Property Counsel Mr. Webb is a registered patent attorney with a wide variety of experience in handling sophisticated intellectual property matters, such as domestic and international patent and trademark procurement, management of international portfolios, joint development projects, licensing and transactional agreements, antitrust and competition law, and trade secret maintenance. Mr. Webb has a technical background in biochemistry, and has drafted and prosecuted patents in the fields of biomedical devices, pharmaceuticals, medical treatment methods and software. He also regularly acts as lead counsel in patent litigation matters—including in the biomedical device and health care software industries—and has extensive experience in counseling clients on IP strategic budgeting, forecasting and planning. Mr. Webb advises the business on all intellectual property matters.
Kevin Gluntz, JD Mr. Gluntz has spent over two decades representing various businesses, from Fortune 500 companies to family-owned businesses, in all aspects of business, securities law and tax law. He currently practices in the areas of securities law, general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions (including numerous commercial financing transactions), venture capital and tax law. He counsels publicly and privately-held clients on tax planning, corporate structuring and governance strategies, and facilitates private placements, mergers, financings, acquisitions and divestitures. Because of his commitment to client service and responsiveness, his clients consider him to be their primary consultant, and count on Mr. Gluntz to provide them with significant, key input on tax planning, corporate structuring and governance strategies as well as providing them sound business advice.
